Customer facing restructure supports SFS intec's entry into new markets

SFS intec has realigned its sales and technical support functions to provide a more focused resource for fabricators and system suppliers.

04 January 2012

With 21 years experience, Product Manager Nigel Wood takes on his new role of Business Development Manager for the company's Hinge Technology and Building Component subsidiaries with additional regional responsibility for the north of England and Scotland. Nigel will be leveraging SFS intec's established presence in PVC-U and composite doors; while supporting its entry into new areas - specifically focussing on aluminium and timber sectors.

"There's actually far more hanging on the common hinge than most homeowners recognise. And as market developments - such as triple glazing - mean even greater strain will be placed on this vital support component, the industry has an important job to do in championing independently tested products that can provide not only a longer lifespan but improved security benefits too," says Nigel.

"With this in mind, we've revisited our approach to ensure we're at the forefront in terms of hinge design and technologies; as well as taking an industry leading stance on rolling out key messages surrounding the security and performance aspects that are often overlooked by the wider market."

Capitalising on similar opportunities arising from changing industry regulations impacting on the roofing and cladding sector, Craig Johnson has risen up the ranks to Technical Advisor. A long-standing specialist on the fastenings side, Craig's new role has been devised in-line with increasing customer demand for a more holistic experience.

"Customers require much more than stand-alone product information in these heavily regulated times. They're looking for the genuine added-value they need to ensure absolute compliance," said Craig. "Failures will commonly occur at the interface but with direct access to someone with complete understanding of the product, its application and the required standards that have to be met, clients can count on complete peace of mind. This is where our increased technical know-how comes in."

It goes without saying that SFS intec's technical service and support package provides customers with sound advice and in-depth product information as standard, but with a dedicated point of contact committed to technical knowledge share, and a new informed support into the doors and window sector,
SFS intec is proactively putting changing customer needs at the core of its offering.
